I qualified in 2000 with Body Control Pilates Association and since then trained with Stott Pilates, becoming an instructor in both essential and intermediate matwork.  In 2004 I completed my training as a Method Putkisto instructor which added to my skills in enabling clients to achieve optimum muscle balance, control and good posture through a deep stretching and enhanced breathing technique.

In 2006 I trained as a Nordic Walking instructor to offer clients an alternative and more aerobic outdoor exercise which carried through all the principles of  balance and alignment and my most exciting and recent addition has been to become one of the first UK certified Pilates for Golf instructors, adapting pilates to the specific needs of the golfer to ensure you can hit the ball consistently further and straighter, whilst avoiding pain and injury.

Over almost 9 years I have gained experience working with clients of all ages and levels of fitness liaising with medical professionals for those with specific health issues and developing seated and standing programmes for elderly and arthritic clients.  I have also devised corporate programmes focussing on preventative healthcare in the workplace and worked in schools, helping teenagers to develop better posture and strength.

My aim is to reinstate natural body movement for my clients, always improving their understanding of their own bodies so that they are able to confidently incorporate this knowledge into everyday movement and normal lifestyle.  The benefit of this is that we can then correct and respond to warning signals that could otherwise lead to pain and health problems.

By placing the emphasis upon relaxation and the release of tension and stiffness in the muscles clients safely work at their own pace without risk of further strain or injury.  This ‘relaxed control’ method releases tension in all areas of the body giving an overall sense of well-being and renewed energy.
