Dear Jackie,
I must tell you about the improvement in my golf recently. My regular playing partners have all commented on my accuracy. I have always been a long hitter but now my drives are finishing on the fairway rather than in the trees! Regular Pilates excercise has given me the core stability that I have lacked previously. My swing now consists of a smooth rotation of my body with reduced swaying and tilting. I realise, however, that I will need to continue with regular Pilates exercise in order to maintain my core stability. I also need to address my woeful bunker play!
Many thanks for your very significant input to my improvement. You have made Pilates simple and fun. Most of all you have identified my body strengths and weaknesses and worked with me accordingly.

I have been going to Jackie now for four years, I had never done Pilates before, indeed I hadn't done much in the way of exercise since leaving school. After the first lesson I thought I would never get the hang of it, but I persevered as did Jackie, and I soon began to improve. Jackie is an excellent teacher and I really enjoy the classes, everyone is very friendly and we have a laugh as well as learning.
10 years ago I had a bone density scan and it showed I had lost some bone, so I was delighted when I went recently for another one and my bone density is now 89%.
I feel much fitter as a result of Pilates and I would advise anyone thinking about taking it up to come and join us.

I went to Jackie in September 2004 having just had my 2nd son and in desperate need to reconnect with my body.
Jackie taught me to control and connect with parts of my body I never knew existed. My posture and inner strength improved within a matter of months and instantly felt the benefits of her teachings. So much so that I continued with my pilates classes well into my 8 month of my 3rd pregnancy. I feel less lethargic and the stress and tension I use to carry across my shoulders has gone. My body is in better shape that it has ever been and I can not imagine my week without a pilates class from Jackie.

I cannot sing Jackie Gilbert's praises too highly. For some time, I had been suffering the most debilitating muscular spasms in the region of my lower back, hips & legs due to spinal instability. Having done the usual round of specialists who could find nothing specifically "wrong" on my numerous scans & x-rays, Jackie worked out a programme of exercises to both strengthen and loosen these muscles. The progress that she has made with me has been astonishing and under her guidance I am able to relieve the pain that was making my life so miserable. Jackie is an extremely experienced and dedicated Pilates teacher whose care and attention to detail are highly professional but what makes her so special is that she really listens to her clients and takes infinite care with their individual needs.

I started pilates after a recommendation from a friend who is a physio, I have an arthritic hip joint, and am anxious to put off the inevitable operation as long as possible. What surprised me about pilates is that firstly I thoroughly enjoyed each session but that I found so many fringe benefits, such as a great improvement in my asthma,my posture and all round well being, and two years down the line I'm still not ready for the hip op. Jackie prepares each session so that every client will have some "tailored" exercises.She is very thorough and ensures that everybody understands each routine,but most of all she keeps session light-hearted and fun. I am just about to start my fourth year of Pilates with Jackie. I lead a very physical life, and need to be fit at all times to look after my disabled son and his three younger sisters. Jackie's classes have become a must-do in my life, as I feel so well afterwards. Jackie is so fit herself, and such a great teacher, that I always feel motivated and happy to go. We all work happily together and celebrate each other's improvements as well as our own. Friday mornings are definitely an oasis of calm in my otherwise chaotic life!
